Our mission at Leona Bee is reclaiming traditional food culture and cooking in a fun and inviting context. Understanding the origins of food that families and communities place in our society today. Emphasize the importance of food justice and empower participants to be advocates and leaders for creating a more sustainable food system with innovation, creativity and ingenuity.

Tawanna Williams

A Leader in Education 

Tawanna Williams is a highly motivated education professional with over twenty years of experience in working with educators, students, parents, and community organizations from diverse cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. In efforts to close the literacy achievement gap, Ms. Williams works to design innovative workshops for educators PreK through grade 12, that intentionally use data and metrics to analyze and implement instruction to improve literacy outcomes. In 2019, Tawanna became a Certified Food Literacy Educator, opening the door to allow for schools, families and community organizations to experience academic literacy through food culture.
